Technical rehearsal is . The public is invited to observe the Technical Rehearsal, a practice run through of the evening concert to be presented on stage in early evening. This educational experience will allow for questions and answers in an effort to establish a platform for deeper understanding of the dance works to be performed. A liaison of the Festival will give an introduction, share background information about the production and what it takes to produce a show. Some of the performers and staff members will be available for a Q&A. Audience members will be encouraged to ask questions.
1 pm till 4 pm
Tour in Motion
A Tour in Motion is a guided walking tour, happening every hour on the hour, with 3-4 locations presenting short site specific dance works. This immersive experience will explore the mobility of a dance performance and the capability of a dance artist to be inspired by an outdoor location to create a site specific dance work. The goal of this tour is to give the audience members an opportunity to experience dance in an intimate setting, utilizing unusual spaces for the presentations.
5:00 till 6:30 Pm
The Culminating Festival Concert features a selection of masterpieces of both American classical and modern dance and new works performed by regional and national professional dancers. The concert also features rising advanced students from local dance institutions including dance department of Meredith College along with confirmed advanced students of Destiny Dance Institute, Wake Forest Academy of Fine Arts and Franklin Academy.
